Job description

Work with Ukrainian refugees to improve their English skills through one-on-one or group lessons. Volunteers are needed to help tutor Ukrainian refugees improve their English to help them adapt to a new culture and country.

Tutors will help participants with conversational English, vocabulary building, and practical communication skills. Lessons can take place in designated spaces provided by the Slavic Refugee and Immigrant Services Organisation (SRISO).

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.

Onboarding Process: Background check

Required Skills/Experience: Must be fluent in English and have a passion for teaching or mentoring. No formal teaching experience is required, but patience and strong communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements: None. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and all tutoring can be online.
