Job summary

Discovery Ranch for Boys seeks an engaged English Teacher to deliver classroom instruction in the afternoon at a relationship-based residential treatment center in Utah.

Morning therapy work is part of our integrated care model as you collaborate with a larger team to support students who face emotional and behavioral challenges. A current Utah teaching license is preferred, and the resume should include licenses and certifications.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Able to pass criminal investigation background check
• Able to pass motor vehicle record check
• Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
• 1st Aid & CPR certified (we may provide)
• ICC certified (we may provide)

• Work as part of a larger team to support students with emotional, behavioral, and substance use challenges; mornings are devoted to therapy work while school is in the afternoon.

Part-time | Monday-Thursday | 3:30-8:30 pm | $22-25/hour depending on experience and certification

As our English Teacher, you will provide traditional classroom instruction in an unique setting to a diverse student body. Discovery Ranch for Boys is a relationship-based residential treatment center. We use evidence-based practices and emphasize experiential therapy.

You will work as part of our larger team in providing integrated care services to our students, who struggle with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. Mornings are devoted to therapy work while school is held in the afternoon, the ideal time for academic engagement in adolescents.

We need an engaged, creative, and dedicated teacher who sees the value in our students and will help them see it too as they continue their education. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and a strengths-based approach are how we foster the healing process and create lasting change, and this happens just as much in the classroom as anywhere else.
