Faculty Opening: Middle School English Teacher

The Carmel School is seeking a skilled English teacher to join our incredible, compassionate, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable faculty and staff for the 2025-26 school year. Candidates with specific content mastery are encouraged to apply!

Successful candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in content or a related field, and advanced degrees and/or certifications are preferred. All employees must complete a criminal background check upon their official start date. Summary of Essential Qualifications
  1. Respects, supports, and promotes the Christian elements of the school
  2. Is passionate about teaching Language Arts
  3. Values inquiry-based learning approaches during instruction
  4. Teaches core subject material, utilizing and developing the appropriate curriculum
  5. Supports the school administration and abides by the employee handbook
  6. Develops lesson plans and instructional aids to effectively teach
  7. Demonstrates using models, manipulatives, technology, and other instructional aids
  8. Enables individualized and small-group instruction to meet the needs of students
  9. Connects classroom content to student schema and real life when possible
  10. Manages the classroom to provide an orderly, productive environment
  11. Utilizes formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress
  12. Communicates effectively with school stakeholders about students' progress
  13. Selects and acquires school-approved texts, instructional aids, and supplies, and maintains inventory records
  14. Reports to the Head of Middle and the Head of Upper School
  15. Supports and contributes to co-curricular programming by coaching, club sponsorship, or other means
  16. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
  17. Proficient and always growing in learning new technology
  18. Demonstrates confidentiality and professionalism with all stakeholders
