About the position:

Overview

BASIS Oro Valley Primary is seeking qualified candidates for a 4th Grade English Teacher for the 2025/26 school year. The role involves preparing and facilitating subject-specific lesson plans, implementing the BASIS Curriculum, and tailoring topics to the teacher's expertise and passion.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject with another degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in subject matter or education.
• 2+ years teaching or education experience.

Role in Co-Teaching Model

Subject Expert Teachers (SETs) co-create and implement grade and subject-specific lessons, collaborate with Learning Expert Teachers (LETs), and focus on cultivating student success through engaging instruction.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and facilitate subject-specific lessons.
• Deliver instruction that exceeds grade standards.
• Design effective lessons and assessments aligned with the BASIS Curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and build a professional community.
• Tutor students to enhance content knowledge and skills.
• Manage student behavior to promote a positive learning environment.
• Support non-instructional duties like “Early Bird,” “Late Bird,” and lunch supervision.
• Maintain consistent attendance and supervise students as needed.
