Position Overview

Under general supervision, develops and implements a curriculum aligned with District educational goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

1. Observe and monitor student behavior across various settings, establishing a safe and respectful classroom environment.
2. Assess student needs, develop, implement, and evaluate daily lesson plans, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs.
3. Organize classroom materials and utilize management techniques to promote order and safety.
4. Use positive reinforcement to encourage desired behaviors and maximize educational outcomes.
5. Evaluate student work and progress, communicate with parents, and collaborate with instructional team members and specialists.
6. Order supplies and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Secondary 6-12 Teaching Certificate in approved area.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Equivalent combinations of training, education, or experience meeting minimum qualifications are acceptable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics

• Knowledge of state and federal activity standards, developmental levels, and classroom management techniques.
• Effective communication, relationship-building, and basic math skills.

Physical Requirements

Work is indoors, involving frequent sitting, repetitive motions, and occasional lifting.
