Definition

Under general supervision, develops and implements a curriculum program consistent with District educational goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

Tasks

• Observe and monitor student behavior in various settings; establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
• Assess student needs and develop, implement, and evaluate daily lesson plans, modifying instruction as needed.
• Organize classroom materials and space to support curricular activities.
• Utilize classroom management techniques and positive reinforcement to promote desired behaviors and outcomes.
• Evaluate student work, analyze progress, and communicate results to parents and students.
• Collaborate with instructional team members and specialists to support student learning.
• Order classroom supplies and instructional materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics

• Understanding of state and federal educational standards.
• Knowledge of developmental stages of school-aged children.
• Familiarity with district policies, teaching techniques, classroom management, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Work performed indoors, involving frequent sitting, repetitive motions, monitoring vision, and some lifting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Secondary 6-12 Teaching Certificate in approved area.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Equivalent combinations of training, education, or experience meeting minimum qualifications are accepted.
