Women of the World (WoW) is a Salt Lake City nonprofit that has served forcibly displaced women for 15 years, helping them achieve self-reliance through job training, English education, case management, and community building. WoW serves women from more than 35 countries regardless of immigration status, connecting them with employment, education, health, and legal resources through a network of 200 or more community partners. As the WoW English Program Analyst VISTA, you will spend a year conducting foundational research and design work across two initiatives: analyzing and strengthening the English language learning pathways from beginner conversation through Intensive English completion, and creating a framework for job-specific English training for women seeking work in accessible sectors including housekeeping, kitchen crew, and custodial work. You will gather direct input from students, graduates, employers, and staff, and produce curriculum frameworks and a baseline proficiency assessment tool. You will also develop and pilot volunteer orientation and training materials and document procedures for staff to use for future volunteers. This position is ideal for someone passionate about adult education, curriculum development, and economic opportunity for immigrant and refugee communities. You will collaborate with the Program Director, Intensive English Teacher, Economic Empowerment Coordinator, and case management team throughout your term. Salt Lake City offers a vibrant nonprofit community, outdoor recreation, and exciting city experience. Many of the refugee and forcibly displaced women served by WoW are low-income and face English-language barriers that limit access to stable employment and economic self-sufficiency. Strengthening WoW’s English education and employment-focused curriculum systems will increase the organization’s capacity to help women overcome these barriers and build pathways out of poverty.
