Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time English Learner Teacher for a Birmingham, AL school setting. You will provide high-quality English language instruction to English Learners, supporting academic achievement and collaborating with educators and families to ensure equitable access to learning.

Responsibilities include assessing proficiency with WIDA ACCESS, delivering language development across listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and coordinating with teachers to implement effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL, EL Education, or a related field.
• Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with EL/ESL certification or eligibility.
• Knowledge of WIDA Standards and ACCESS assessments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' English language proficiency using WIDA ACCESS and other approved tools.
• Deliver English language instruction across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement instructional strategies and accommodations.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records for state and federal documentation.
• Participate in parent conferences, EL meetings, and IEP meetings as applicable.
