Job summary

K12northstar is seeking a Paraeducator to support ELL students in the regular classroom by providing targeted accommodations in collaboration with teachers. The role includes tutoring in core subjects in English or the students' native language, helping students access the curriculum with culturally responsive practices.

The position offers competitive hourly pay ($21.60–$24.14 DOE), a comprehensive benefits package, and a structured work year of 9 months with 7-hour work days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• If in a Title I school, must have 48 hours of college credit, an associate's degree, or must have passed the ParaProfessional Assessment.
• Experience communicating with and relating well to persons from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.
• Basic and high school level skills in math, reading, English, social studies, and science.
• Knowledge of cross-cultural communication, second language acquisition, and academic language development.
• Must be able to relate well with teachers, principal and other staff; follow tutoring plans and documentation requirements; relate well with students, parents, and community members from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.

Internal Hourly Rate: Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Work Day: 7 hours per day

Work year: 9 months
