Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated, and collaborative Middle School English Language Arts Teacher for Grades 6–8. The successful candidate will inspire students to become confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers while fostering a structured, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction for students in Grades 6–8 using research-based instructional practices.
• Prepare Grades 6 and 7 students for the New York State English Language Arts (ELA) Assessment through rigorous instruction, targeted intervention, progress monitoring, and data-informed teaching.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
• Utilize assessment data, including i-Ready, to monitor student growth and guide instruction.
• Establish a positive, structured classroom culture rooted in Catholic values, high expectations, and mutual respect.
• Collaborate professionally with colleagues, administration, instructional coaches, and families to support student achievement and strengthen instructional practice.
• Participate in professional development opportunities both during and outside of the regular school day, including faculty meetings, instructional coaching, diocesan trainings, and school improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
• Be willing to moderate an after-school extracurricular activity or student club that enriches the life of the academy.
