Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver English Language Arts instruction to middle school students (grades 6-8).
• Serve as a leave replacement with variable duration.
• Complete BOE approval process and maintain eligibility.
• Ensure criminal history clearance and compliance with district policies.
• Collaborate with ELA department to align instruction with standards.

English Language Arts Leave Replacement Teacher MiddleSchool (grades 6-8):

Requirements:

• Valid NJ Instructional Certificate (Teacher of English or Subject Matter Specialization � English Language Arts Grades 5-8)
• Knowledge/Experience working with anthology and novel-based instruction;
• Proficient at modeling/teaching/assessing written expression;
• Knowledge of the scope and sequence of NJ Student Learning Standards for ELA;
• Knowledge of state assessment test specifications for language arts (ie: NJSLA)
• Ability to integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction
• Knowledge of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching � a plus
• Knowledge of best practices in middle level education
• Willingness to collaborate with fellow department members
