Job summary

Grade Potential Tutoring seeks an in-person tutor in Mount Pleasant, SC to work with a 9th-grade student. Sessions are 1 hour, twice weekly, 4–6pm, at the Wando Mount Pleasant Library. Subjects include Geometry and English. The student has ADHD and needs motivation, accountability, and consistent work completion.

The tutor should not be a minor, be willing to travel within 5–10 miles, and bring their own materials and teaching methods. Flexible scheduling preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring.
• Willing to travel within 5–10 miles to meet the student.
• Applicant must not be a minor.
• Tutor must be available for 1 hour sessions 2× a week between 4pm–6pm on Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-hour tutoring sessions, twice weekly, at the Wando Mount Pleasant Library (1400 Carolina Park Blvd, Mount Pleasant).
• Tutor Geometry and English; support motivation, accountability, and mastery through consistent follow-up.
• Use your own materials and teaching methods to help the student reach a consistent Geometry grade of C or higher.

About the student

• The student isa 9th grader attending Wando High School and he needs to work with a tutor for Geometryand English. The student has ADHD and is currently failing Geometry. The student has worked with a tutor before but are looking for a new tutor who can provide effort,follow-up, and accountability. The student understands the material butstruggles with motivation and completing his work consistently.
• The goals for the student are for him to earn at least a consistent C in Geometry while building confidence, improving accountability, and developing stronger discipline and motivation.
• The family wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week between 4pm-6pm on either Monday, Tuesday, Friday or Saturday.
• The family wants to meet in-person with the tutor at the Wando Mount Pleasant Library at 1400 Carolina Park Blvd in Mount Pleasant.

Requirements

REQUIRED

• You have experience teaching/tutoring.
• You are willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles).
• Due to insurance requirements, applicant must not be a minor.
• Tutor must be available for 1 hour sessions 2 times a week between 4pm-6pm on either Monday, Tuesday, Friday or Saturday.

• $25-$35 per hour
