MassBay Community College seeks qualified part time instructors for future semesters to teach Early College and earlycollege-related courses in first-year composition in high schools within ourservice area, including, but not limited to Framingham, Waltham, and Milford. The ideal candidate willjoin a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve apopulation of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit toexcellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professionaldevelopment. Adjunct faculty areexpected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environmentconductive to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member inthis position communicates consistently and effectively with students, facultyand administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period oftime. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timelygrading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback withassignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
Our adjunct instructors hold amaster’s degree in a related discipline and have obtained appropriatecertification and/or licensure where applicable. EarlyCollege Pathwaysadjunctinstructors must be committed to working with high school-aged students and toteaching college classes in high schools across the region and/or at one of theMassBay campus locations. Early College Pathways adjunct instructors willattend an Early College faculty orientation and participate in ongoingprofessional development throughout the year. Please note: Teaching schedulesmay vary by school district but are primarily daytime hours between 7:00 am to4:00 pm, with some limited availability of late afternoon/early evening orweekend assignments.
