Job summary

River Parishes Community College in Gonzales, LA seeks a Part-Time English Academic Coach to provide tutoring, coaching, and targeted interventions for students enrolled in English courses; travel to other RPCC campuses as needed.

You will maintain a caseload, monitor progress, and collaborate with English and math faculty to support student success and retention, while handling documentation with institutional systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in English, English Education, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching English at the secondary or postsecondary level.
• Demonstrated ability to explain English concepts to students with varying academic backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn institutional software systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between RPCC campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an assigned caseload of English students requiring additional academic support.
• Monitor student performance, attendance, engagement, and academic progress throughout the semester.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in developmental and college-level English courses.
• Collaborate with mathematics faculty to identify students in need of academic intervention.
• Document all coaching sessions, tutoring appointments, student contacts, and intervention activities using institutional systems.
