Job summary

River Parishes Community College in Gonzales, LA seeks a Part-Time English Academic Coach to provide tutoring, coaching, and targeted interventions for students enrolled in English courses; travel to other RPCC campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in English, English Education, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching English at the secondary or postsecondary level.
• Demonstrated ability to explain English concepts to students with varying academic backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn institutional software systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between RPCC campuses as needed.

POSITION TITLE: English Academic Coach APPOINTMENT

Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs

LINE AND STAFF RELATIONSHIPS

Directly responsible to the Dean of Students (or designee)

Campus: Gonzales Campus (Travel to other campuses as needed)

Employment Status: Part-Time (Up to 28 hours per week)

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Part-Time English Academic Coach provides academic coaching, tutoring, and targeted intervention services to students enrolled in mathematics courses. The Academic Coach works collaboratively with mathematics faculty and Student Success Coaches to identify and support students experiencing academic challenges, improve course completion, and increase student success and retention. This position maintains an assigned caseload of students, monitors academic progress, provides individualized coaching and tutoring, and connects students with additional campus resources when appropriate. The position is primarily based on the Gonzales Campus but may require travel to other RPCC campuses to meet student and institutional needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in English, English Education, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching English at the secondary or postsecondary level.

• Experience utilizing student success technologies, learning management systems, or early alert software.
