Job summary

GE Aerospace in Ohio seeks a Tools & Software Strategy Lead to drive strategy, governance, and adoption of engineering tools across Military Engineering Sciences. You will partner with DT, tool owners, and program teams to align roadmaps with safety, quality, and cost objectives, translating needs into actionable digital solutions.

The role requires experience in regulated aerospace environments and the ability to obtain US Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, IS, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years in engineering tools, software or digital enablement, or technical program leadership.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain US Government Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated engineering environments.
  • Experience with NPSS, Matlab, Python, Git.
  • Familiarity with PLM, data management, modeling/simulation, or workflow platforms.
  • Experience across cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic focal for engineering tools and software.
  • Develop and maintain the tools/software roadmap aligned to priorities.
  • Coordinate with engineering leaders, DT, cybersecurity, quality, and program teams.
  • Lead tool deployment, enhancement, sustainment, and retirement activities.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into development or implementation plans.
  • Drive standardization and harmonization of tools and processes.
  • Support governance including licensing, access, compliance, and export controls.
  • Monitor tool performance, adoption, and value realization.
  • Prepare leadership updates, business cases, and recommendations.
