Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking an Engineering Technologist I for warranty teardown analysis. This hybrid role requires in-office presence four days per week with some off-site work.

You will receive warranty parts, perform teardown analyses, and report results to Warranty Engineers, supporting QA and containment activities while ensuring safety and housekeeping. Occasional travel to Mexico and the US is expected.

Qualifications

• HS/GED and Technical Certificate in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
• 3–5 years of progressive manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Receive warranty parts and perform teardown analysis per automotive specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with SEWS labs for specialized testing as required.
• Organize test results and report to Warranty Engineer.
