Job summary

The Bartech Group, Inc. seeks an Engineering Technologist or degreed Engineer to join our Area Operations Support Team. This role blends customer interaction, electric utility design, and project coordination to support new or modified electric services for residential and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in the electric utility industry and basic project management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and design sketches.

Responsibilities

• Review new and updated customer-facing work orders daily in Maximo.
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, and text for questions and updates.
• Conduct on-site visits to gather field notes and develop design sketches.
• Design primary and secondary voltage equipment per utility standards.
• Develop cost estimates for customers prior to service where applicable.
• Complete engineering designs using the BOUD tool.
• Coordinate with construction teams and resolve field issues through final meter installation.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, sketches, and records.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering

Associate degree in Engineering Technology

10–15 years of utility-related experience
