Job summary

Hana Technologies Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician (Manufacturing Technician) to produce RFID inlays, tags, and embeddable products. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, train Operators, and support testing and process improvements.

This full-time weekend overnight shift runs 7pm–7am on Sat/Sun plus one more weekday, with overtime possible based on production needs. Strong technical and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; engineering education is a plus.
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing or machining including setup/changeover/troubleshooting.
  • Experience training others.
  • Ability to follow safety, ESD, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Ability to perform basic math and use computer programs.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment such as microscopes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate manufacturing documentation.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, changeover, troubleshoot, and monitor manufacturing equipment for RFID inlay, tag, and embeddable production.
  • Perform equipment set-up and adjustments for roll-to-roll and reel-to-reel processes.
  • Execute manual and automated processing of components.
  • Support RFID assembly processes, including seed preparation and testing equipment operation.
  • Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet daily output goals.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment and work areas.

As an Engineering Technician (internally titled: Manufacturing Technician), you’ll play a hands‑on role in producing RFID inlays, tags, and embeddable products that power real‑world tracking and identification solutions. You’ll set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, assist in training Operators, support testing, validation, and continuous improvement efforts, and help ensure our products meet quality and performance standards.
Position Summary:
As an Engineering Technician (internally titled: Manufacturing Technician), you’ll play a hands‑on role in producing RFID inlays, tags, and embeddable products that power real‑world tracking and identification solutions. You’ll set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, assist in training Operators, support testing, validation, and continuous improvement efforts, and help ensure our products meet quality and performance standards. In this role, you’ll develop deep technical expertise within key areas of the manufacturing process while expanding your skill set through cross‑training in additional production and engineering support functions. This position offers the opportunity to strengthen your troubleshooting and analytical capabilities, contribute to process optimization, and play a direct role in achieving production targets and customer requirements. This is a full-time position assigned to Weekend Overnight Shift: 7pm – 7am, Saturday‑Sunday and one additional weekday. This role may require overtime, including extended shifts or weekend work, depending on production schedules and customer demand. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, Engineering education is a plus
  • Demonstrated engineering, manufacturing, or machining experience including set up, changeover, or troubleshooting
  • Proven experience successfully training others
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety, ESD, and cleanroom protocols
  • Ability to perform basic math and utilize computer programs
  • Ability to use inspection equipment such as microscopes
  • Ability to use small tools and measurement devices
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate manufacturing documentation utilized in the manufacturing process
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferred
Essential Job Functions:
Equipment Operation
  • Operate, set up, changeover, troubleshoot, and monitor manufacturing equipment used in RFID inlay, tag, and embeddable product production
  • Perform equipment set-up, changeovers, and basic adjustments for roll‑to‑roll and reel‑to‑reel processes
  • Execute both manual and automated processing of components
  • Support RFID assembly processes, including operation, setup, changing over, troubleshooting, and monitoring of spring assembly, measuring, auto‑testing, and seed preparation equipment
  • Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet daily output goals
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment and work areas to support safe and efficient operations
Troubleshooting
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance assignments and elevate issues as needed.
  • Perform in-depth equipment troubleshooting, including machine settings, error codes, sensor issues, camera malfunctions, and quality concerns
Quality Testing & Assurance
  • Inspect components and finished products to ensure they meet quality and performance specifications
  • Conduct RF and performance testing of products
  • Perform characterization testing of microelectronic parts using inspection tools such as microscopes and measurement devices
  • Accurately complete process and quality documentation
Packaging
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment, including packaging, boxing, labeling, and core cutting
  • Accurately complete material transactions, including labeling and ERP system inputs
  • Ensure packaging meets quality and customer requirements
Rework
  • Perform rework operations, including set up, processing, monitoring, and documentation of reworked materials
Safety, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Serve as lead trainer for Operators and newly hired Technicians
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, ESD controls, and cleanroom gowning requirements
  • Collect and report daily performance metrics, including safety, quality, and productivity
  • Lead shift changeover meetings and communicate effectively with team members
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and production output
  • Support team production goals, including working overtime as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
