Job summary

The NYS Department of Transportation seeks a capable Engineer Technician Trainee/Senior Engineering Technician to support design, construction, and planning activities in the Watertown region. Qualifications

One year of experience assisting in engineering or related fields, and high school diploma.
18 semester credit hours in math, physical science, geology, or engineering topics.
High school technical program in CAD/CAM, drafting, or engineering fields.

Responsibilities

Assist engineering staff with field and office tasks; take measurements and prepare notes/maps.
Perform routine technical tasks and data collection, including simple calculations.
Use computer applications and CAD/Drafting tools in daily work.
Support field survey crew under supervision in regional operations.
