Job summary

Guhring Inc in Brookfield, WI, is seeking an engineering support specialist to assist in processing Customer orders under the Engineering Manager. You will follow published process guidelines and engineering design guidelines to aid tool development.

You will work with engineers and manufacturing to develop routings, update prints, and layout tools from finished parts, finishing basic tool designs. This role emphasizes practical engineering, teamwork, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 3–5 years related experience in metal working or machine trades; Bachelor's in mechanical/industrial engineering preferred.
• Basic blueprint reading and math up to trig; practical engineering techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, leadership and communication skills for complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Originate process methods, routings required in the manufacture of cutting tools.
• Update engineering systems with change orders from engineers, manufacturing, or sales.
• Layout a tool from a finished part print and maintain required records; finish a basic tool design.
• Recommend speeds and feeds to customers and troubleshoot base application problems.
• Perform repeat orders.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop standard routings and time data.
• Prepare prices for products and provide form sketches when a print does not exist.
