Job summary

Form is seeking Engineering Technicians on a 6-month contract to build out test stands and prepare for the next wave of test modules. You will work with engineers to assemble prototypes, install them into stands, and validate functionality before tests.

The role requires handling electrolyte chemicals, safety-focused processes, and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced lab environment. You will decommission modules, document procedures, and maintain organized records while staying compliant

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on technician experience with mechanical/electrical systems or an associate's degree in engineering.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and CAD, and build to drawings with high precision.
• Ability to execute established procedures independently and seek input from senior technicians and engineers when needed.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow safety protocols around hazardous systems.
• Comfort with wearing PPE while working with electrolyte chemicals.
• Willingness to complete hazardous materials training before starting chemical work.
• Strong written communication and documentation, track work in Jira.
• Pride in craftsmanship and high-quality, reliable assembly work.
• Proactive, resourceful mindset with attention to detail.
• Collaborative, asks questions and raises issues early.
• Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype subassemblies from drawings and instructions.
• Identify and recommend tooling to speed up prototype builds and test fixture assembly.
• Install subassemblies and hardware into test stands.
• Validate systems after build using test plans and checklists.
• Safely decommission and remove test modules and prep stands for new modules.
• Handle, transfer, and dispose of electrolyte and chemical waste per SDS and procedures.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with engineers when needed.
• Take initiative to close gaps like missing parts or unclear instructions.
• Escalate issues and safety concerns to engineers promptly with detail.
• Maintain clear records of builds, validation results, and modifications.
• Keep lab and test stand areas organized, clean, and safe.
