Job summary

Erbe USA, Incorporated is seeking a dedicated engineer to assist the Engineering team with product and process development for new products, transfers, and sustaining projects. You will execute studies, review protocols, build prototypes, and handle test samples with strict traceability.

You will operate test systems, support validations, analyze data in Excel/Minitab, and maintain a well-organized lab under 5S guidelines while collaborating across Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or high school diploma or equivalency.
• 7+ years’ of process and manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Experience following work instructions, process documentation and procedures to ensure safe operating of all equipment while producing high quality work.
• The ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes using scientific principles and resolve issues related to production quality.
• A team-driven attitude to work together and support department initiatives such as 5S.
• The ability to complete production paperwork, which includes inventory accuracy.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Medical device industry or regulated industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering team with product and process development for new products, transfers, and sustaining projects.
• Execute engineering studies supporting feasibility, process development, design verification and validation, and sustaining changes.
• Review and provide feedback on protocols, test plans, and data collection plans.
• Build prototypes and development samples and execute controlled engineering builds.
• Prepare, condition, label, and handle test samples with complete product traceability.
• Operate test systems including tensile test equipment, vision systems, and basic metrology equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
• Support process validations, test method development and validations, and root cause analysis.
• Analyze test data using Excel and Minitab; prepare tables, graphs, statistics, and study results.
• Maintain laboratory organization and 5S, storage, and sample disposition.
• Communicate study status, risks, and issues; collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations on documentation, training, and continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
