Job summary

Polluxa, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician in Oregon to perform moderately complex engineering tasks related to investigation, location, design and construction of improvements and maintenance projects. Responsibilities include permit reviews, land use coordination, inspections, and map updates.

The role reports to the Public Works Director or designee and requires strong communication and data analysis abilities, with a focus on accuracy and customer service in a municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of techniques, principles, methods and materials used in engineering projects.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and codes is desired.
• Ability to obtain information from engineering plans and specifications.
• Ability to gather and correlate data from various sources and provide a final plan or major chart.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and work with contractors, employees, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Review and process permits and land use applications; coordinate with departments.
• Perform inspections for permits and ensure compliance.
• Assist the Public Works Department as required.
• Coordinate updates to sewer and street engineering maps.
• Respond to inquiries from phone and counter about projects and policies.
• Conduct construction inspections as needed.
• Prepare written correspondence to staff, owners, architects, engineers, and others.
• Perform related duties as required.
