Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity in Chattanooga, TN, for a telecom-focused Engineering Technician responsible for designing electric and communication system facilities. This includes designing work to serve new customers and improve and maintain current infrastructure.

Job Duties Include:

1. Design and modify telecommunication electrical facilities, both overhead and underground, following applicable codes, standards, policies, and customer needs.
2. Interface with customers via site visits, phone, and email.
3. Collect customer data to estimate electric usage, fault current, electric account deposit, and create sales orders, obtaining customer approval/signature, and tracking estimates.
4. Initiate work orders for construction by performing cost estimates and creating job sketches.
5. Update Customer Information System with relevant data.
6. Manage time and schedules to maximize customer service and productivity.
7. Participate in system emergencies such as storm restoration, providing field information and oversight of contractor crews.

Required Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of electrical distribution design experience in a telecommunications firm.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD.
