Olin is seeking an Engineering Technician - Mechanical Instrumentation to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and process instrumentation systems at our Independence, MO site. You will support alarms, HVAC controls, and site instrumentation, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires strong schematic reading, MS Office proficiency, and experience with industrial instrumentation. OT may be required; ITAR/compliance and US citizenship considerations apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; controls automation certificate preferred.
• Experience with instrumentation maintenance, HVAC controls, and process instrumentation.
• Ability to read schematics/drawings and work independently.
• Proficient with MS Office and documentation.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Technician Mechanical - Instrumentation you will serve in a critical role in supporting the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components. Technical expertise and attention to detail will ensure that all electrical systems meet the required specifications and operate efficiently.

Salary: $78,000- $99,600 Annual merit increase and company bonus will be included on top of base salary.

Schedule: Dayshift 4 - 10 hour shifts with overtime as needed. This is a salary non-exempt position so overtime pay is available.

Engineer Technician - Electrical Essential Job Functions

• Serve as a member of the Maintenance Instrumentation team, supporting alarm systems, process instrumentation, HVAC controls, and other site instrumentation and control systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain instrumentation and control equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform testing, analyze results, and develop recommendations for corrective actions and system improvements.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other trades, contractors, and operations personnel to support process and facility needs.
• Source replacement parts and materials, including vendor communication and purchase order requests.
• Develop, update, and maintain instrumentation maintenance procedures and documentation.
• Provide technical training and mentoring to electricians, instrumentation technicians, and engineering technicians as needed.
• Prepare job estimates, including labor, materials, and resource requirements.
• Maintain accurate work records, schedules, and equipment history within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Stay current on emerging instrumentation technologies, industry best practices, and applicable training opportunities.

Engineer Technician - Electrical Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Controls automation training program or relevant certificate preferred. 5 years relevant work experience with maintenance of Johnson Controls Metasys, DeltaV, Experitec or equivalent instrumentation systemsStrong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of control systemsAbility to read schematics, drawings, and work independentlyExperience developing/creating and performing maintenance requirements for HVAC and process systemsMust be proficient with basic hand and power tools. Machining experience a plusProficient in MS Office and documentationOvertime and weekend work may be required for this position.

Must possess a valid US driver's licenseThis position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required. This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
