Your Opportunity + Impact

This Engineering Technician is an entry-level technical role within the Engineering disciplines that can operate within any department. The Engineering Technician will assist engineers in designing and compiling drawings and permit packages and will complete simple to intermediate plan sets and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Uses CAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation, InRoads, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and other software programs relative to the discipline to develop simple to intermediate, technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
2. Reviews work to ensure accuracy, makes corrections to work from red lines, and backchecks.
3. Performs tasks within the assigned work-hour budget.
4. Maintains documentation and project records.
5. Provides technical coordination with other disciplines as assigned by Project Manager.
6. Assists with simple design calculations, calculates quantities, reviews technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates.
7. Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.
8. Performs building surveys and related field work as assigned.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Technical discipline.
2. Experience: Zero (0) to four (4) years’ job-related experience.
3. Licensure: n/a

Qualifications

1. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Microstation, InRoads, and other relevant software/drafting programs (HAP, Sketch-up, Photoshop, etc.). Required use of InRoads (Surfaces/Templates), 3D modeling, and/or rendering skills for assigned projects.
2. Ability to understand and manipulate client-specific prototypes.
3. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Open-minded, proven technical problem solver, willing to learn new methods and technologies.
