Job summary

Silgan Containers in Indiana seeks a maintenance/engineering professional to enhance the operation of blow molding machinery. You will rebuild, upgrade, and streamline systems, collaborating with production to improve efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities include directing capital projects, installing new equipment, reading blueprints, and mentoring the maintenance team. Strong mechanical/electrical skills and PLC knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• PLC knowledge and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct capital projects and machine rebuild.
• Assist with installation, replacement, or repair of electrical and mechanical components.
• Read and develop engineering drawings and electrical schematics to diagnose equipment issues.
• Troubleshooting equipment and systems after installation.
• Support engineering team with designing layouts of systems and equipment.
• Installing new systems or equipment.
• Train maintenance staff on maintenance of installed systems and equipment.
• Communicate progress to plant team with supporting documents.
