Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation offers a meaningful Engineering Technician Summer Intern role located in various U.S. offices. You will gain hands-on experience across Civil, Mechanical, Structural or Electrical disciplines while contributing to real projects.

You will collaborate with the Virtual Design & Data Solutions Team, use AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit, and participate in mentorship programs to grow professionally as an engineering professional in an employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year Engineering Technology program.
• No experience required.
• Must pass pre-employment checks (if selected).

Responsibilities

• Work with the Virtual Design & Data Solutions Team and support Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical functions.
• Utilize drafting and modeling software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit.
• Meet budget and scheduling restraints.
• Hands-on experience at an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company.
• Learning opportunities through mentorship and co/lab trainings.
• Networking opportunities with industry experts.

The Opportunity

As an Engineering Technician Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch.

Chosen candidates will be located in (or relocate to) Overland Park (KS), Ann Arbor (MI), Bloomington (MN), Chattanooga (TN), Dallas (TX), Denver (CO), Houston (TX), Orlando (FL), Raleigh (NC), or Tualatin (OR)

Duties may include

• As a Intern, you will work with the Virtual Design & Data Solutions Team and serve as a resource for an assigned function: Civil, Mechanical, Structural or Electrical.
• Utilize drafting and modeling software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit
• Meet budget and scheduling restraints
• Hands‑on experience at an employee‑owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company
• Learning opportunities through mentorship and co/lab trainings
• Networking opportunities with leading experts in the industry

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in a 2 or 4 year Engineering Technology program. No experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

This intern position is expected to be in the office on a full‑time basis.
