Job summary

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is seeking an Engineering Technician Intern to join our team at Picatinny Arsenal.

This on-site opportunity offers hands-on learning in a collaborative environment that supports growth in engineering, manufacturing, and digital services. You will assist with welding, machining, CNC setup, CAD awareness, and general shop tasks while supporting engineers and the Prototype Manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Must have good mechanical skills and experience.
• Working toward a High School diploma; currently enrolled in metal working/welding.
• Knowledge of CAD systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• On the Job Training for general welding and joining.
• Operate manual machining, milling and turning.
• Set up and operate CNC machinery.
• Assist with day-to-day shop tasks and support engineering activities.

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking an Engineering Technician Intern to join our team! This person will be participating in an on-the-job learning environment. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the Prototype Manufacturing team. Duties to include On the Job Training for:

• General welding and joining
• Operation of manual machining, milling and turning
• Operation and setup of CNC machinery
• Capable of performing basic shop tasks
• Support engineering activities
• Assists with day to day needs of the shop

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

• Pass drug and alcohol testing
• Must have good mechanical skills and experience
• High standard of quality and efficiency
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid knowledge of shop mathematics
• Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly
• Basic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy object
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license
• Working towards a High School diploma
• Currently enrolled in a high school, metal working/welding class
• Must have at least 2 years in high school metal working/welding class or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of CAD systems a plus
• Strong “hands on” mechanical skills
