Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) seeks an Engineer to join our team at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. This entry- to mid-career role supports the AMPD Directorate, working on advanced materials, manufacturing, and analytical technologies for munition systems.

You'll perform design, analysis, and testing across multiple disciplines. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, up to 5 years of experience, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain DoD clearance.
• MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficiency.
• 0-5 years of engineering experience.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Munition and Armament Systems.
• Mechanical design of experimental/prototype systems.
• Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Test and evaluation of munition and armament systems.
• Computer vision analysis / Digital Image Correlation.
• Support Advanced Manufacturing and 3D Printing initiatives.
• Contribute to Producibility studies and tooling.
• Welding, 5-axis machining, and robotic integration.

These positions will be in support of the Analysis, Materials, & Prototyping (AMPD) Directorate’s mission execution, positions are available in multiple engineering disciplines to include Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Robotics Engineering. Positions are entry level through mid-career for both bachelor’s and advanced degrees. These roles support the development of advanced and novel materials, manufacturing, and analytical/experimental technologies to enable the development and improvement of new and legacy armaments systems. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.

What will you be doing?

These positions will be key members of the Division in the appropriate supporting Branches. Duties include:

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

These positions will require the following skillsets and experience:

• Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process
• Pass drug and alcohol testing
• Must have good mechanical skills and experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes
• Experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• High standard of quality and efficiency
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of weapons and firearms a plus
• Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly
• Fluent in (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license
• Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar discipline
• Past or present military personal are encouraged to apply
• 0-5 years of experience with engineering or similar discipline
