Job summary

Terracon in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a field/lab technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate findings to the Project Manager and prepare written and digital reports daily.

Responsibilities include transporting samples, maintaining equipment, assisting with scheduling, and upholding strict safety standards to ensure quality on all projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with Project Manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others regarding the site, project requirements, testing, observation, and results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for testing and analysis with identifying documentation.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
