Job summary
Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), is seeking a Repair Activity Representative for the CVN 68 Inactivation Program. You will provide technical support to engineers, gather and format data, produce engineering documentation and drawings, and perform detailed calculations.
You may conduct tests and record data to aid evaluation. The role requires an Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience; NNS Apprentice School or NNPS graduates are
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
- NNS Apprentice School graduate.
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate.
- High School/GED with 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.
- High School/GED with 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data and drawings.
- Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, schematics).
- Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; conducts tests and records data as needed.
