Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division seeks a technically skilled professional to support engineers with data collection, formatting, and documentation. You will assist in producing reports, drawings, and flow charts, and will perform calculations to aid engineering evaluation and analysis.

Responsibilities include gathering technical data, maintaining documentation, and contributing to engineering changes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate.
• NNPS graduate.
• High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.
• High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data and engineering design changes.
• Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas and conducts preliminary analyses.
