Job summary

First Division Consulting, Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician III to support the integration, repair, maintenance, and enhancement of USMC communication systems and equipment.

The role requires proficiency with MIL-STD cabling, wiring, RF and power cables, and field shop operations. You will assist in configuration, troubleshooting, and the development of technical documentation, including MIs, TIs, TMs, ICDs, BOMs, and interface content.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent electronics training.
• Three to five years of practical experience to include design, preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support integration, repair, and maintenance of USMC communication systems in field and shop environments.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and document technical content such as MI/TI/TM/ICD and BOMs.
• Develop and modify engineering drawings and technical documentation as needed.

First Division Consulting (FirstDiv) is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician III to provide technical support for the integration, repair, maintenance, and enhancement of United States Marine Corps (USMC) communication systems and equipment. The selected candidate will support system configuration, troubleshooting, and day-to-day technical operations, as well as assist in the development of technical documentation and engineering content. This role requires proficiency in MIL-STD cable fabrication, tactical system integration, and a working knowledge of USMC communications platforms in both field and shop settings.

The candidate must demonstrate the following required skills:

• Proficient with MIL-STD cable fabrication with the capability to assemble/solder communications cabling, RF cabling, power, networking, and other multi conductor cabling.
• Capability to read and understand technical documentation, cable assembly drawings and schematics for complex or multi-system architecture
• Experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting a variety of current fielded USMC communications systems
• A solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and related codes
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential for diagnosing and fixing electrical issues.

Working knowledge of tactical communications best practices for vehicle integration:

• Grounding/Bonding
• Cable management
• Component installation/removal
• Electrical safety
• System Troubleshooting

Familiarity with technical content required to produce the following technical documents and/or USMC publications:

• Modification Instructions (MIs)
• Technical Instructions (TIs)
• Technical Manuals (TMs)
• Component Parts List / SL-3
• Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Interface Control Document (ICD)

Proficiency with hand tools and familiarity with electrical equipment and testing instruments are necessary:

• Understanding of safe operation of shop hand tools and power tools
• A strong understanding of electrical safety practices and regulations is paramount.

Experience with operation of RF test equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting:

• Insulation tester resistance meter (Megger)
• Multi-meter
• Effective communication with clients, supervisors, and other team members is vital.
• Ability to lift, climb, and work in confined spaces, so physical fitness and dexterity are important.

Desired Skills

• Operational knowledge of USMC voice and data modes of communication to include UHF, VHF, HF, SATCOM, SINCGARS, ANW2
• Operational knowledge of the USMC Light Armored Vehicles (LAV)
• Experience with configuring, operating, and troubleshooting USMC voice and data radios and vehicular radio configurations, specifically:
• RT-2034C, AN/VRC-138
• RT-2060
• Experience with configuring, operating, and troubleshooting Harris RF-7800i Inter Communications Set (ICS)
• Experience with configuration, operating, and troubleshooting the Joint Battle Command - Platform (JBC-P) / Mounted Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS)
• Attended MIL-STD-2003 training and IPC 620 Certified

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED
• Three (3) with degree/formal training or five (5) years with HS/GED of practical experience to include design, preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
• Clearance Required: Secret
