Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks Engineer Technicians to support electrical, mechanical and structural disciplines in the design, construction and maintenance of nuclear-powered carriers and submarines. Onsite roles involve translating requirements into documentation and providing production support.

The team collaborates with engineering, planning, quality and deckplate operations to ensure safe, compliant shipbuilding with a strong focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent.
NNS Apprentice School, NNPS or high school with related experience accepted as alternatives.
Experience with naval or marine ship design and design standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

Translate engineering requirements into executable technical documentation.
Support design, construction and maintenance of nuclear-powered ships.
Interface daily with engineering, planning, quality and deckplate operations.
