Job summary

RGNext is seeking an Engineering Technician II for the Kwajalein Atoll to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ALTAIR radar systems. The role supports engineers and maintenance crews in a high-hazard, remote environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining electrical/mechanical subsystems, keeping detailed records, and complying with safety and environmental procedures while ensuring readiness of critical radar components.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics, RF, or related field or military/experience-based equivalent.
• Two or more years of technical maintenance experience in electronics/mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and use standard electronic test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for ALTAIR radar antenna systems per schedule.
• Oversee maintenance crew and ensure tasks are completed correctly.
• Maintain operational equipment (motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, coax/waveguide components).
• Maintain shop equipment and spare parts inventory.
• Provide support to engineers on design and modernization projects.
• Assist with radar component repair and modification activities.
• Follow procedures for hazardous waste handling and disposal.
• Log maintenance entries in MAXIMO and track asset items.
• Climb and work at heights up to 150 feet; training provided.
• Maintain safety documentation and daily safety meetings.

RGNext employees execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of our nation in defending the United States and its interests.

This overseas position is located on Roi-Namur on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodation or pets). Benefits of this unique location include free housing, three meals a day and potential for overseas U.S. tax incentives (FEIE).

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance for the ALTAIR radar antenna electro-mechanical systems and structural members per maintenance schedule.
• Assist and oversee maintenance crew to ensure tasks are performed properly i.e. (paint, grease, gear maintenance, oil change, etc.)
• Maintain operational equipment i.e. (electric motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, coax/waveguide components, etc.)
• Maintain shop equipment i.e. (hand tools, sandblaster, compressor, etc.)
• Maintain current spare parts inventory and procure parts as required.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance performed.
• Provide support to receiver, transmitter and hardware engineers during design and implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects involving receivers, transmitters, servos, and antenna subsystems.
• Assist with operations, maintenance, repair, and modification of radar components.
• Comply with all applicable procedures for storing and disposing of hazardous waste.
• Make MAXIMO entries into the system tracking operational hours for the antenna.
• Track property items for the ALTAIR team.
• Climb and work at heights up to 150 feet as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Associate degree in electronics, RF, other technical field or a two year technical school, military experience, or experience in lieu of education.
• Two or more years of technical experience.
• Technical, hands-on work experience with mechanical/electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to effectively perform maintenance, repairs, and replacement of complex mechanical systems; gear boxes, pumps, motors, bearings, and coax/waveguide components.
• Ability to effectively use standard electronic test equipment, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, RF power meters, spectrum analyzers and frequency analyzers.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• Ability to successfully troubleshoot electronics and perform general repairs.
• Electrical fabrication skills and soldering skills.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. independently.
• Ability to climb and work at heights up to 150 feet and complete climber safety training (training provided on site).
• Ability to effectively use standard mechanical tools.
• Ability to lead and document daily safety meeting.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
• The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
