Job Description

Position Summary

Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to join our team of professionals. The successful candidate will work with senior engineers, project managers, and other staff to support the preparation of plans/specifications, CAD drawings, and development of design documentation for projects focused on electric transmission, distribution, wind, solar, and other energy facilities. The role involves assisting in various engineering tasks to ensure project success by proactively managing issues and challenges.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that can be based anywhere in the US. The anticipated annual salary ranges from $79,900 to $134,400, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Use CAD & PLS-CAD software to create and modify technical drawings.
  2. Assist engineers in developing designs, reports, exhibits, and construction documentation.
  3. Collect data efficiently and analyze results from multiple sources, sometimes with limited information.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various services and initiatives.
  5. Maintain detailed records of test results, procedures, and technical documentation.
  6. Participate in fieldwork as required.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience or training with CAD software and GIS (AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcMap).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed, technical reports.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
