Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Technician II to support construction inspection and contract administration in the Matthews B Construction Office. You will perform material tests, assist in supervising junior staff, and maintain thorough project records and diaries.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in a related field and at least two years of technician experience; knowledge of HiCams/SharePoint is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related field.
• Two years of progressive technician-level experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of contract administration and inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Support higher level technicians and engineers in administering construction contracts and performing inspections.
• May serve as lead project inspector on small to intermediate projects.
• Perform tests of materials for acceptance according to contract specs.
