Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a drafting/engineering support professional to design and prepare pipeline construction drawings, tie-in plans, and permit applications for projects up to $2M. The role involves gathering field data, assisting with materials procurement, and ensuring CAD standards are followed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate’s degree preferred in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Basic CAD training or certification is required.
  • 1 year of related experience is required.
  • Standard Driver’s license is required.
  • Knowledge includes materials, drafting software, basic civil surveying, construction principles, utility locating, electronic mapping, and One-Call requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; strong math skills.
  • Ability to work independently, interpret regulations, and collaborate effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with CAD standards and templates.
