Job summary

Astrion is looking for an Engineering Technician II in Huntsville, AL to support engineering activities at Redstone Arsenal. The ideal candidate will have three years of experience in engineering support or electronics, along with training in instrumentation.

This role involves installing and maintaining special instrumentation, supporting both design and testing efforts. Candidates with excellent customer relationship skills will have an advantage. A secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware.
• Must have sixteen weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or instrumentation.
• Experience in electronics/instrumentation for military hardware.

• Install, operate, and maintain LOCAITS instrumentation.

• Support test events for LOCAITS data collection.

Overview

Engineering Technician II – LOCATION: Huntsville, AL; JOB STATUS: Full-time; CLEARANCE: Secret; TRAVEL: As Needed. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician II located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Required Qualifications / Skills

• Three (3) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or two (2) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and one (1) year of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:
• Instrumentation - Must have sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and at least one (1) of the three (3) years of experience must be in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

• Exceptional customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and maintain LOCAITS instrumentation.
• Support the LOCAITS lead engineer in the design, installation, production, and deployment of LOCAITS GPS/IMU kits on various aerial and ground vehicles platforms.
• Support both local and TDY test events involving LOCAITS data collection on integrated aviation/weapons systems.
• Install and operate range equipment (camera’s, intercom, video monitors, fiber, and ethernet cables).
