Job summary

InDyne is seeking an entry‑level, onsite technician to support the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range in Patuxent River, Maryland. The role involves assisting real-time flight test operations, troubleshooting telemetry systems, and operating ATAS/TAS equipment while learning RF theory.

The position offers hands‑on training and exposure to Navy DoD test programs. A High School diploma or equivalent is required; an Apprentice pathway is provided toward Engineering Technician II.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required or substituted with college hours or trade school.
  • Enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree through an accredited program, with progression to Engineering Technician II after completion.

Responsibilities

  • Support local and remote real-time test flights.
  • Troubleshoot telemetry antenna and supporting instrumentation issues in real-time.
  • Operate and maintain Antenna Telemetry Acquisition Systems (ATAS) and Telemetry Acquisition Systems (TAS).
  • Operate oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, receivers, and transmitters.
  • Acquire knowledge of RF theory and its applications.
  • Work with basic hand/power tools.
  • Learn from senior technicians.

Overview
Background Information

This entry-level, onsite position supports the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy’s East Coast open air test range and provides real-time flight test operations support including data acquisition services to DoD customers. Duties & Responsibility Requirements
  • Support local and remote real-time test flights
  • Troubleshoot telemetry antenna and supporting instrumentation issues in real-time
  • Operate and maintain Antenna Telemetry Acquisition Systems (ATAS) and Telemetry Acquisition Systems (TAS)
  • Operate oscilloscopes/spectrum analyzers/receivers/transmitters
  • Obtain knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and application
  • Work with basic hand/power tools
  • Learn from senior technicians

Educational, Experience, and Skill Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technician I:
  • 1 year of experience performing the same or similar function. In lieu of 1 year of work experience, 12 semester hours of college courses related to the field, or 1 year in a trade/tech school of similar function can be substituted.
  • Apprentice:
  • Enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree or related curriculum from an accredited college or university
  • Upon successful completion of the Apprentice Program the candidate will qualify as an Engineering Technician II
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and may at times need to research solutions independently
  • Must be flexible and team oriented
  • Must be able to travel 50-75% of the time on trips lasting anywhere from a few days up to a month
  • Must be able to work frequent overtime as required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass drug screening
Clearance Requirements
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires ship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance
Work Conditions

Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100lbs assisted by other employees. Visual abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
