Job summary

InDyne, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician I for the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. This entry-level, onsite role supports real-time flight test operations and data acquisition services for DoD customers, working with telemetry systems and RF equipment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, eager to learn, and capable of travel up to 75%. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with enrollment in technician-level studies

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a similar function or 12 college credits related to the field; substitutions allowed.
• Apprentice path with AA/AS degree; eligible for Technician II after program.
• Candidate should be a self-starter with eagerness to learn and be team oriented.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% of the time and work overtime as required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and pass drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Support local and remote real-time test flights.
• Troubleshoot telemetry antenna and instrumentation issues in real time.
• Operate ATAS and TAS equipment.
• Operate oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, receivers, and transmitters.
• Develop knowledge of RF theory and applications.
• Work with basic hand and power tools.
• Learn from senior technicians.

Background Information:

This entry-level, onsite position supports the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy's East Coast open air test range and provides real-time flight test operations support including data acquisition services to DoD customers. Duties & Responsibility Requirements:

• Support local and remote real-time test flights
• Troubleshoot telemetry antenna and supporting instrumentation issues in real-time
• Operate and maintain Antenna Telemetry Acquisition Systems (ATAS) and Telemetry Acquisition Systems (TAS)
• Operate oscilloscopes/spectrum analyzers/receivers/transmitters
• Obtain knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and application
• Work with basic hand/power tools
• Learn from senior technicians

Educational, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Technician I:
  • 1 year of experience performing the same or similar function. In lieu of 1 year of work experience, 12 semester hours of college courses related to the field, or 1 year in a trade/tech school of similar function can be substituted.
• Apprentice:
  • Enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree or related curriculum from an accredited college or university
  • Upon successful completion of the Apprentice Program the candidate will qualify as an Engineering Technician II
• Candidate should be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and may at times need to research solutions independently
• Must be flexible and team oriented
• Must be able to travel 50-75% of the time on trips lasting anywhere from a few days up to a month
• Must be able to work frequent overtime as required
• Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass drug screening

Clearance Requirements:

• Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
• Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100lbs assisted by other employees. Visual abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
