Job summary

Protolabs in Minnesota is seeking an Engineering Technician I to support continuous improvement, process enhancements, and engineering projects that drive efficiency, quality and innovation. This hands-on role collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze manufacturing data and contribute to cost reductions and new product introductions.

You will perform testing and data entry, create set-ups for customer orders, and participate in Lean initiatives such as 5S.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or trade school certification.
• Experience applying Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team and solo environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on designated continuous improvement and engineering projects.
• Support and facilitate continuous improvement changes (including 5S) with engineering teams.
• Participate in project teams at the discretion of the Manufacturing Engineer or Sr. Engineering Technician.
• Create set-ups and execute special operations for specific customer orders.
• Support projects related to new production equipment, process improvement, and cost reductions.
