Job summary

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to work in our Construction Engineering team while based at our office in King of Prussia, PA.

You will perform field QA, observe construction, document and report on work, and test materials including concrete, masonry, steel, soils, and foundations. The role requires reading drawings, communicating with engineers and clients, and may involve overtime.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.
• Recent or upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Reliable transportation.
• FE / EIT in NJ is a plus.
• NJ DCA Special Inspector certification (e.g.: Structural Steel, Masonry, Concrete, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience working on construction projects is a plus!
• Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate technical details.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Materials include reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, spray applied proofing, soils, earth work, and foundations.
• Field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, fireproofing, soils. non-destructive testing of welds, and high strength bolting installation.
• Communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Work construction hours (which may include overtime).
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
