Job summary

Black-Peak Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the gas turbines team in Miami. You will work with a multi-disciplinary group to develop micro-gas turbine engines and subsystems for power and flight applications.

The role requires hands-on hardware assembly, testing, and experience with vibration data systems, GD&T, and Creo. Onsite lab work in Miami is required, with competitive benefits and a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers and improve test data recording, processing, reporting and test wrap-up.
• Improve and maintain test documents including procedures, plans and results.
• Resolve deviations and implement corrective actions for reliable results.
• Assist in fabrication, mechanical assembly and data acquisition for tests.
• Operate rigs and test stands with attention to detail and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular maintenance of equipment and ensure safety procedures.

Job Description

In this role you will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team developing micro-gas turbine engines and subsystems for electrical power and flight applications

Requirements

• Support engineers and improve test data recording, processing, reporting and test wrap-up.
• Improve and maintain test documents including procedures, plans and results.
• Resolve manufacturing and test result deviations, implement corrective actions to obtain reliable, repeatable results.
• Assist in the fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data acquisition system for tests.
• Assist in the operation of rigs and test stands with attention to detail and continuous improvement.
• Conducts regular maintenance of equipment.
• Ensures that all safety procedures are observed during laboratory and testing work

Qualifications

• Possesses background knowledge in engineering or manufacturing.
• Works well on a team with excellent communication skills
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings, component specifications, and engineering terminology
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity
• Hands on experience with hardware assembly and testing - Required
• Experience with PTC Creo or ProEngineer - Required
• Experience with vibration data acquisition systems (accelerometers, proximity probes, FFT) - Required
• Experience with OROS, DasyLAB, or Lab View - Required
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience - Required
• Hands-on design and fabrication experience - Required
• Ability to own a project and drive it to completion
• Capable of equipment design and working with suppliers
• Experience working in Aviation, aerospace, turbines or MRO services industry - highly preferred
• Must be able to work onsite at Testing Lab in Miami FL - Must be local
• Work Authorization: Must be US Citizen or Green card holder
