Job summary

The North Dakota Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform field inspections on Grand Forks construction projects in Grand Forks, ND. You will work with Robotic Total Station GPS, drones, and MicroStation to measure quantities and prepare reports and plan sheets.

Positions require 2+ years for Technician II or a HS diploma for Technician I, plus a valid North Dakota driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training and support will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in field inspections and ensuring compliance with plans and specs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid North Dakota Class D driver’s license.
• Experience with MicroStation and CAD tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections for construction projects and ensure adherence to plans and specs.
• Measure quantities and create reports and plan sheets using MicroStation.
• Test road and bridge materials to meet NDDOT specifications.
• Assist project engineers with final records and district design work using MicroStation.
