Job summary

Critical Loop is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the build, integration, and testing of next-generation energy hardware. The role involves moving between the shop floor and test environment, assembling prototypes from drawings, wiring systems, and setting up instrumentation for development tests.

You will work with engineers to diagnose build issues, document nonconformances, and ensure safety practices around high-voltage systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling prototype electromechanical systems from drawings and specs.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
  • Familiar with bench/HIL test setups including instrumentation and meters.

Responsibilities

  • Build and wire prototype skids, control cabinets, switchgear, and subassemblies from drawings and work orders.
  • Perform HV/LV wire routing, harnessing, crimping, terminations, and connector installation to spec.
  • Set up and operate bench and HIL test equipment (inverters, load banks, DAQ, sensors, oscilloscopes, meters).
  • Conduct development and validation testing and capture traceable data for engineering.
  • Identify and troubleshoot build/test issues with engineering to determine root causes and next steps.
  • Read and interpret GD&T, BOMs, and drawings; verify and redline as needed.
  • Document nonconformances and provide feedback to improve designs and processes.
  • Maintain organized lab tools and ensure calibration is current.
  • Follow safety practices around high-voltage/high-energy systems (LOTO, arc-flash PPE, ESD).
  • Collaborate with Electrical & Controls Engineering, Production/Build, Test, Quality, and Field Service.
