Job summary

Winchester Ammunition in Independence, Missouri, is seeking an Engineer Technician – Electrical to support design, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components. The role requires CAD proficiency and a strong electrical background to ensure safety and compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with engineers and operations, create technical drawings, and document project progress while meeting overtime and weekend scheduling needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and systems and familiarity with relevant industry standards/regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with excellent customer service.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and developing electrical systems, components, and equipment; create and modify electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Conduct tests on electrical systems and components to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with specifications; identify and troubleshoot issues in electrical systems and propose solutions.
  • Install, assemble, and maintain electrical systems and equipment; perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and other team members to contribute to the overall success of projects; communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to coordinate tasks and share relevant information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical designs, test results, and project developments; create technical reports and manuals for reference.

As an Engineer Technician – Electrical you will serve in a critical role in supporting the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components. Technical expertise and attention to detail will ensure that all electrical systems meet the required specifications and operate efficiently.

Salary: $78,000- $99,600
  • Annual merit increase and company bonus will be included on top of base salary.
Schedule: Dayshift 4 - 10 hour shifts with overtime as needed
  • This is a salary non-exempt position so overtime pay is available.

Engineer Technician – Electrical Essential Job Functions

Location-Specific Requirements
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
