Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract-to-hire role in New Troy, MI. The candidate will support manufacturing and process engineers, troubleshoot CNC machining operations and robotic systems, and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve OEE.

This is a hands-on floor role in a high-volume automotive environment. The position requires experience with CNC machining, FANUC robotics, GD&T, and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a machining/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings including GD&T.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with FANUC robotics in manufacturing.
• Exposure to automotive manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day manufacturing activities and assist in recovering processes after downtime or issues.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, automation, fixturing and process performance.
• Assist engineers to optimize cycle times and reduce scrap.
• Monitor processes and identify efficiency and quality improvements.
• Assist with documentation updates like work instructions and setup sheets.
• Troubleshoot CNC issues on lathes, mills, and automated centers.
• Provide real-time floor support to keep production running safely.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis.
